Decarbonization & Energy Transition

1. Strategic Commitment

As an indigenous leader in the oil and gas sector, Zaffiro International Limited is dedicated to reducing the carbon intensity of our operations.
We view decarbonization not as a regulatory burden, but as a catalyst for innovation and long-term operational resilience.

Our strategy focuses on "Maximum Energy, Minimum Emissions," ensuring we meet today's energy demands while protecting tomorrow's environment.

2. Our Decarbonization Pillars

We have identified four primary pathways to reduce our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) footprint:

  • Operational Energy Efficiency: Integrating AI-powered monitoring and high-efficiency power systems to reduce the fuel consumption of our drilling rigs, vessels, and shore-based facilities.
  • Methane Abatement: Implementing advanced Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs across our managed assets. Methane has a higher global warming potential than CO , and its elimination is our highest priority for immediate impact.
  • Flare-to-Value Initiatives: In alignment with the Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialization Programmed (NGFCP), we specialize in technologies that capture associated gas, converting potential waste into domestic power or CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).
  • Asset Electrification: Transitioning from traditional diesel-generated power to hybrid systems that incorporate renewable solar or wind energy for remote field operations.

Initiative Operational Impact Environmental Benefit
Low-Carbon Procurement Selecting suppliers based on their carbon footprint. Reduces "Scope 3" value-chain emissions.
Circular Economy Recycling drill cuttings and treated fluids. Minimizes waste-related carbon output.
Transition Fuel Focus Prioritizing natural gas infrastructure.
